Becoming a Board Member of Community Futures

CFDC of Revelstoke is governed by a volunteer board of directors made up of Revelstoke and CSRD citizens who have extensive knowledge and experience of the local economy and represent the region’s population and economic sectors. The role of the board is to establish operational priorities, monitor lending activity, oversee general performance and be accountable to key stakeholders such as local, provincial and federal governments.

CFDC of Revelstoke strives to represent the region’s population, economic sectors and gender equality. The CFDC of Revelstoke area consists of the City of Revelstoke and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) Area B. CFDC of Revelstoke will have at least one director representing the CSRD Area B. There are four primary economic sectors in the region: forestry, tourism, government services and transportation (CP Rail). It is important that these sectors are represented on the CFDC of Revelstoke board of directors.

Each year a Recruitment Committee is formed in February prior the Annual General Meeting held each June. This committee seeks to fill any upcoming vacancies that are on the Board of Directors. When a candidate(s) are contacted the recommendations go to the Executive Committee members for further review and then final candidate(s) are then brought forward to the Board of Directors for the final approval at the Annual General Meeting.
