Employee Housing Project
Over the past few months, Community Futures staff have been approached by more than a dozen local business owners and managers who’s businesses either have or were looking into purchasing real estate for the express purpose of providing employee housing to staff. We have also heard from many business that they are having trouble filling positions due to the lack of housing in town.
This has prompted Community Futures to begin working on a plan to build a mixed use employee housing facility of 60 to 100 units. A meeting was held on November 9th to discuss the many issues involved in this project and gauge the level of support for such a project amongst the business community.
